    Past Caring

Well after wanting my new car for so long, i finally picked up my Vauxhall Astra SRi 1.9 (150) on Tuesday night... all insured up.....

And yesterday im driving along, battery light comes on! then ABS! then Skid one! then Air Bag light! then lost power steering!!!!!

So managed to get it down to drive Vauxhall, and left it there for them to look at. They phoned me yesterday to tell me that is the alternator, and its covered under the warrenty, and they have ordered the part.

I think fine, it will get sorted in next few days. To get a phone call today to say they wont get the part till 15th October!

So my new car is down the garrage for 3 weeks, while im getting a hire car.... I will find out later what car i get!

I wonder if it was worth while changing my car .... my coupe never had any problems ...

Unlucky dude hope it gets sorted soon but at least its being fixed. I guess theres a shortage on alternators? Must be because of the credit crunch (why not everything else is blamed on it )
    Its a jam thing

Welcome to the wonderful world of Italian electrics.

My alternator's bearings are giving out already, only 38k on the clock. Added to the list of stuff to get fixed before warranty runs out.
