fitted my xev inlet cam and.....

well i decided time to fit this and see what difference if any it makes.
fitting went well and took about 30mins to do.

started the car and, oh no it was going on 3 cylinders and sounded rough.
    also managment light was on.

switched off right away and off to my work for the laptop to see what faults codes had come on.

got back with the laptop plugged it into the diag socket and started the car to see how it was. it was running fine, firing on all 4 and light off.
read the codes anyway and it was misfire on cyl 3 and 2.

erased the codes and off for a test drive.
WOW what a difference. the turbo kicks in as usual around 2500rpm but once the revs get over 4k it pulls like mad. feels like the turbo kicking in again.

so for £20 to get a cam it was well worth it

hmmm, interesting. Does the car not need a remap to set things up? Is the xev in the normally aspirated 2ltr mk4's?

well i have been reading on here about another member who fitted the same cam. his ran fine with the timing marks all lined up as they should be and it was an improvement. he then tried the inlet cam 1 tooth back and said it was even better! i think it was trickyb

i put mine 1 tooth back so cant compare. the cam i got was from a vectra x20xev. the xev is the 2.0 ecotec n/a engine yes.

Be very interesting to see a feature done on this similiar to the one that total vauxhall did for the C20LET and the XE inlet cam, showing all before and after grapghs.

fingers crossed i will have my car on the roller before the end of the year.
if so i'll post the results.

from what i have read its best put back only half a tooth with a vernier caliper but can be run without the vernier.
