have a 54plate H with crappy drums on the rear
when i bought the car the brakes seemed pretty reasonable but about 6months down the line they started getting crappy so i bought sum new ones from VX and fitted them (even though it turned out the old ones werent low at all, but had them so stuck them on anyway) and it improved the braking for a bit
BUT 2months later they have gone crap again, and feels that if i make a sudden-ish stop the ABS tries to kick in.
when i had the car serviced it didnt have its 4yearly brake fluid change.
could this be the cause of my problem, that over time the molecules in the fluid brake down and cause air which gives the "spongy" sensation?
or is it just my car/brakes that are crap due to the drums on the rear? gonna check the back, and possibly replace the shoes as the handbrake isnt the best (adjust it too).
as its getting into winter time i dont want to get left short with crappy brakes especially as all my way to work is country roads
