    2.2 start up noise question

    hi all
my 2.2 when its first started is quite noisy, not a mettalic noise more of a harsh intake noise really, as soon as its warmed slightly and the tickover has settled down to 850 its quiet as anything
    is this common on these

Have a look at your exhaust maifold, mine made a throaty intake sound on startup and was quite after a few seconds or so. Turned out to be a cracked exhaust manifold. Replaced and all is silent.
