    white spirit

    is it ok to use on paint when trying to get glue off from the badges after de-badging?

    Just use some Autoglym Tardis tar and glue remover.
    Its a jam thing

    I used metholated spirits, worked quite well

    Also used warm water with some flash kitchen degreaser i think, which worked quite well

    Prefer the meths though, much more intoxicating!



    Not sure on the spirits, definately not if it acts as paint thinner

    desperation kicked in but i used a little petrol and wiped it off straight away

    White Spirits and Meths are basically the same thing.

    No harm in using it as long as you use very little and don't rub hard into the paint. Use it more of a wipe over to loosen the bonding agents before using a card to scrape the crud off.

    its turned out ok in the end. i have a 7year old red car so a little thinning wont do it much harm as under the badges were bright red lol

    just to let you know, Cellulose thinners are good to remove, just don't do it too hard or leave on for anymore than 3 mins per application.

    FFS do not use cellulose thinners on your car's paint work!

    White spirit, meths, petrol etc are fine as long as you clean them off afterwards.

    I did it but was a pussy about it and kept washing it off after 1-2minutes with water to make sure :P
