    Handbrake light

    Hello,

Noticed my handbrake light come on randomly when I am turning a corner, it happened on a roundabout, don't think I notice it much as the steering wheel is mostly in the way and eyes on the road kind of thing?

Anyone know what this could mean? only when turning corners, not when i'm braking or going forward.

checked brake fluid level and its fine.

this happened on my Saxo but it was the brake fluid level and braking was not at all very good but with the Astra the brakes are fine.

Check the brake fluid level again. There are 2 chambers and if the front chambers low it will still set off the warning light. Looking inside the res will just show you the rear chamber usually. Maybe try and drop a little fluid in and see if it goes away.

as above, check the brake fluid level.

alternatively, take off the handbrake gaiter and check the connection of the handbrake light wire to the handbrake. if the connection has corroded or been damaged then that can affect it.
