    intercooler mod idea?

Iv been looking at fitting my universal intercooler and i have noticed that by removing the standard air con fan and using two 7" ones this leaves a gap of 85 mm after the intercooler is fitting.

This got me thinking is it/would it be worth having a deeper intercooler. All the ones on ebay etc that are bigger are in hight and all seem to be roughly the same depth 65mm. Would you gain anything by having a deeper on as i could make it twise the size in thoery of what it is now but would it still cool as good or would it just be a waste?

I know if i was to go too big there is turbo lag etc to think of but not thinging of that side of things.

    kev

you wouldn't gain much in depth as most of the heat transfer would have already taken place at the front. A slightly thicker one might get some benefit but one too deep would probably be a waste.

this is what i was thinking off too as if it was too deep then the air wouldnt get cooled as it does at the front. It was just an idea to try something different!
