Radiator fans wouldn't go off, only ignition on...

I do a fair mileage up and down the road totally about 110 miles per day. Today i got back and check my tyre pressures as i do regularly but when i turned the ignition on to plug in the tyre inflator i heard a noise which turned out to be both fans either side of the radiator going full pelt. I thought this was unusual as the engine hadn't overheated during the journey. Also, the A/C doesn't work but i understand 1 of the fans is to do with it? I have a 3d 1.6 SXi (02) - any help on this would be great, thanks.

This problem usually points to a faulty coolant control module. It will needed to be tested by vauxhall or someone with the right test equipment to be certain though

Actually on a slight aside, if it is the coolant control module could this also cause the A/C to not work? When i push the button no noise/click/anything. Would be lucky if both problems are due to the same thing. There's no dash light on though...
