My 2000 1.6 X16EL 16v is smoking after a cam belt broke (At tick over) Replaced all the valves and seal, lasted about a week before it started realy smoking badly. Took off head again to reveal that the valve guides are leaking, even thought I'd used new seals. The enginner told me today that the oil rings may also be damaged, they get clogged up, as he put it, has anybody come across this, he says they all do it. Told him to replace the stems and re cut valves, before I put head back on is there any checks I can do, there's no movement in the pistons, and bores are sound. Has anybody come across this problem, it's a new one on me.
