Wipers wont self park ... HELP!

    hi,
ive been having a problem with my wipers for a few months now.
they wont self park on intermitent setting, and stop where i turn them off on the other two speeds.
looking through forums and rang the Vauxhall dealer, everyone recons a replacement wipermotor should fix my problem.

I bought a new wiper motor and nothing changed, same problem. coming up to MOT time and im hoping someone can help me.

    cheers, Benn.

    Welcome mate

Was it a brand new motor or 2nd hand one? Next simple thing to check would be the relay

hi thanks for the reply mate,

yea it was a second hand one.. i thought it would be unlikely that this motor also had an identical problem.
    is this problem very common?

Have you got a guide on how to check the relay, or is it a simple haynes manual jobbie? (not at home atm)

    thanks Benn.

are you serious!? the last one cost me £30+ £10 p&p with linkages.
and if the problem is so common, wont the new one soon suffer the same fate?

Hi Benn, i had that very same problem with my Veccy the washer jet didnt work eathier.
Had to have a new motor because the motor houses the relay to the intermitten wipe and the wash bottle cost me £250 OUCH i nearly died.
and to add insult to injury my wheel bearings went aswell at the same time that also cost me 400 odd quid coz the bearings are a complete unit with the hubs. so if the Astra is the same setup be prepaired for a hefty bill...

im from southport, takes me about 45mins to get to the wirral and a few quid in the tunnel there and back. ill see if i can find a scrappy a little closer, that will let me try the wiper first.
If not ill pop over the water, recommend any good ones?

    Cheers, Benn
