    Who needs an air filter

check this muppet out from cliosport:

    http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=354821

His car is running baddly for some unknown reason........

well my had broken down.. the engine idles but theres no response when pressing the throttle.. had to idle it home.. about 15 miles..
i dont know what the problem is but my friend suggested that it might have been the throttle cable... or more seriously the cloth that was attachted onto the induction kit suction has gone missing... which can only lead to one thing.. inside the engine!

thing is would the engine still run with the cloth being inside the engine? i cant beleive it am devasted..

Had a friend in college who just removed his airbox all together and left the pipe sitting there, this made his 1.2 corsa really fast until his engine blew up for unknown reasons.

Looks like he's sprayed air filter oil over his little piece of rag, some filter oils are blue.

Is this worse than the idea of plumbing your exhaust into the inlet to force air in and save buying a turbocharger I just don't know

    Unbelievable.

Mind you, my mate runs his nova on TB's with no filters most of the time. Stupid idea IMO. But he says if it blows up he'll just stick a new engine in from down the garden.
