    Exclamation Compressor surge?

When have my bus mapped i notice i was geting compressor surge at part throttle, has any one has had and how to get rid of. My mate said it could the turbo is sucking too much air not keeping up or my pipes and intercooler are bigger so my car is not generating enough boost pressure so ie need a bigger turbo ie vxr one.

compressor surge is happening whant trottle suddenly closed, and alredy compressed air in getting back to turbo..ans slowing down turbo's rotor. how can it happen at part trottle?? dont understand...maybe damaged wastegate or stuck actuator?

Is that part throttle on the pedal or butterfly (throttle body)?

The butterfly position is controlled by the ECU and is not always at the same opening as the pedel is pressed (ie if the pedal is 50% the throttle can be 99%). This is quite normal.

Sound's about right to me, however surely the ecu would see the sudden rise in compressor discharge pressure and dump it which as i write i just realised that's why you said damaged wastegate or stuck actuator....

eds are an aggressive map im sure its just that as some one sid above the throttle i fly by wire not a cable so you put ya foot half way down but as its a aggressive map the ecu opens the throttle further and waste gate closes giving you a surge of boost but as you not put ya foot down the ecu closes it again giving you a un even acceleration unless ya plant ya foot to the floor, hope this helps
