Well after buying a 2nd hand set of what i was told were perfectly working sharkeyes off of here 6 months ago, and living with them for 4 months, i finally decided enough was enough so they needed a looking at!
I had 2 problems:
1-The manual adjusters didn't work at all, all of the adjuster parts were knackered, so there was no way of adjusting the height of the light beam, meaning one was pointing at the floor and one into the tree's!!!
2-I've never been 100% happy with the lenses as the sharkeyes have all of the lettering right on the front face of the light as apposed to the standard light which has it down the side of the indicator.
So i had a plan, i fancied something different that you couldn't buy, and would blend into the front of the car. I had a spare set of headlights kicking about so i set about making 2 good ones out of the 4 i had.
After spending a bit of time getting the lenses polished back up making sure i got rid of any scratches or chips, and then an afternoon with the lights going in and out of the oven, me swapping and modifying parts and painting up some selected parts, i ended up with a 1 off set of xenon headlights which are now fully functional. Being a projector xenon the performance of the light is not effected by the colour.
All opinions welcome.
