    advice needed on vxr

Hi all, I haven't been on the forum much since selling my Mk 4 GSI in April/May. I bought a Signum which i think is great BUT, i miss the performance and ride so yesterday I bought myself a 57 plate red Astra VXR. 4000mls only and in showroom condition. I am picking it up towards the end of the month as i am on holiday tll then. Around Xmas/New Year time it will hopefully be taken to Regal for Phase 1 & 2. Pictures will be posted once the car is mine. The advice i needed is ....... Are there any mudflaps that can be used on the vehicle as vx do not make any? Can any mudflaps be modified ? as i would like to keep the sills as chip-free as possible. Any comments would be helpful. It's nice to be back and with a great car.

You can fit mudflaps on the VXR;s with 18" alloys, but they dont fit on those with 19"

thanks for that. The vxr has 18" wheels so which mudflaps fit because according to vx, mudflaps for the vxr astra don't exist. Could you point me in the right direction please.

You want MK3 Astra mudflaps, which are the older square style mudflaps. Some trimming maybe required.

Knew you would miss the power. Welcome back to Astra ownership. Can't wait to see the pics and see it in the flesh.

Hi ya Jam, yes you are right. Love the Signum 1.9cdti (120bhp) and its 600mls range on one tankful BUT!!!!!!!!! something was missing and after taking a vxr out on Friday 29th August i realised i was missing driving an astra. Don't ask me why. The vehicle i drove was miles better than the vxr i test drove when they first appeared. Fell in love with it and picking it up around 15th Sept on return from my Hols. Would love to show it you so when is the next Cosford meet. Nice to hear from you mate and glad to be back. Re mudflaps, what trimming is needed on the Mk3 m/flaps to make them fit, and, can they be used front & rear ?

The VXR uses the Z20LEH engine. (Pretty similiar to look at).

The next meet is probably some time away as its Trax next weekend so we'll be missing Cosford for Trax. But give me a call once you've got it and I'll come over and have a butchers if you want?

Cracking purchase. But what colour you gone for and what options?

NGK or Denso Iridium plugs would be the order of the day.

Racing red, looked at an Arden blue m/v but the passengers door was scratched and they were deep. Its standard spec accept for front & rear parking sensors. It's a 57 plate on a 07 car with 4000mls (approx). It's showroom condition. I think a trip to regal could be looming in the new year probably for phase 1 & 2. Sendme a pm with your number and I'll call you when i've got the car.
