    can you de cat a y20dth

    hi all can anyone tell me can you de cat a 52 astra van with a y20dth . i have read different reports saying you can and you carnt cheers

    Yeah, mine was decatted. Actually found the cat the other day, taking it to the scrap next week, they're worth about £60 now apparently.

    yep done mine aswell no worries for mot!!
    project smoker is now stepping up a notch check garage for details

    if its illegal to smoke until the age of 18 my astra should of been locked up ages ago!

    roadrunner are selling a decat pipe for the Astra 1.9 cdti 150, will it pass an mot ok also, and not throw any errors up?

    Nope, the cat on the DTi is pretty small.

    It should pass OK as long as emissions are OK. The only sensor is well before the cat, so it won't upset anything on the ECU.

    Excuse the stupid question but is this legal (on 1.9 cdti)? I thought that all cars after a certain date had to have cats fitted? Also does it not effect the back pressure thus changing power output / engine performance / fuel economy??
