I have bought a new Opel Astra H about a year ago. I experienced some problems, and I went to my dealer / service center in Cairo. They had to modify the car program. My car uses Easytronic transmission, and I use a key for ignition (it does NOT have the Open and Start System). My car would not start unless I press on the brake pad. If it happens and I forget to do so, a yellow LED lightens up in the instrument panel (with a foot and a pedal logo) inidcating that I should press on the brake pad. This logo has disappeared after programming.
I went to the service center, and they reached to a solution that they would change the whole instrument panel (since it is still in waranty). I was not convinced, and I think it is a programming issue. I agreed for the replacement. They replaced my instrument panel, and before programming the new one, I have seen that the indicator LED is working. Once they started programming, and after they programmed the instrument "Variant settings" (or something close to that) the LED disappeared again.
To make sure they were configuring the correct parameters, they read off the parameters from another car (which was still new at the show room). What they finally said, is that their programmers are "old".
I strongly believe that there must be a parameter for configuring the indicator.
Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance.
