buy a new car? 1.6 naturally aspirated cars are not going to be quick.

Not really what was being asked though..

I had a cat back stainless exhaust in my SXi which I felt made the car pick up a bit better.

well reducing the weight would yield greater gains than the small increases made by induction kits

well im only guessing but when someone buys a 1.6 (like me) then insurance and other running costs are a reason for doing so in which case i doubt spending 4k on a turbo is on the cards

i know what your getting at.
he just asked how to make more bhp.
the kits are meant to be insurance friendly.(so they say in the ad in total vaux)

on a smaller budget the dbilas inlet, cams, exhaust and remap you will still be around £2k i would think

FFS. I really wish people will keep these crappy opinions to themselves. I own a 1.6 and NO I can't afford to upgrade my car so your suggestion is a crap one. Will people just be helpful for christ sake it doesn't take a lot!

Right this is what I would do...
First of all VXR induction pipe. (Vauxhall)
    ITG/K&N/Courtenay Sport panel filter (www.lmfvauxhall.co.uk www.thorneymotorsport.co.uk www.courtenaysport.co.uk )
Iridium spark plugs (any of the above)
CAT back straight through exhaust system (www.lmfvauxhall.co.uk Blueflame exhausts, ExhaustsUK)
Cams & remap (has to be done at the same time). (www.regal-shop.co.uk)
Sports CAT (manicat this part will include a new manifold as your CAT is built into the manifold hence the term manicat). (www.regal-shop.co.uk)
After that then you want to start looking on SBD-Dev.co.uk for more inspiration where they have a 1.6 pushing over 200bhp naturally aspirated.

Hope this is of some help mate.
    Its a jam thing

what about improving the handling more with suspension and brake upgrades. they are main features in creating a faster car as you will be able take corners at a greater speed more safely
