There are plenty of online resources you can use including templates etc.
Just search around on google. You need to be able to sell yourself in a profesional mannor.

And remember, the purpose of a CV is not to get you a job, it's to get the employer interested in you so that he invites you for an interview.

don't cram too much into it, 2 pages is more than enough. Give tid bits of information so they *have* to bring you in to ask more about it.

i'd say one page with smallish font (not dragged out to fit on more like some people do) with as said just near on bullet point peices of info just to get them interested.

I was made redundant this year and have just made a CV.

Think the best format seems to be a 1 page document on Word

Name (do NOT put CV on the document, as its obvious what it is)
Contact info, address, phone and email (dont put age, or anything else)

Personal profile, such as hard working self motivated proffessional (do not use "I" such as I am a hard working)

    Current job name, address.
Bullet points about your duties and responsibilites (Remember no full stops in bullet points)

Previous jobs that you want to mention,( same format as above)

You can put qualifications if you want, but dont go into great detail about subjects, ie 5 GCSE's. (I didnt put this, as I feel my bank experience outweighs my lack of qualifictions)

Additional info such as interests etc (again, dont use "I am")
