Well last week i had agreed that because John Thorne had helped me out massively regarding my tuning and a few other bits and bobs i would detail his car for him in anticipation for the Bmw show at Gaydon.. The M3 had been stickered up in race livery with giant green thorns the same as the car he races in the Dunlop Sportmaxx cup so i knew the car would have taken a small beating as John is a professional Race driver not clean freek...
I took the friday off work while John was testing and arrived in Milton Keynes to meet the boys and the car..
The Astra Mr Shaw races whom i was with at Brands the sunday of the Bmw show..
and someones track prepared E36 Bmw..
Upon first inspection Johns car had been driven alright...:driver:
The sticker edges i knew were going to need claying well
The car has 2 sets of Rays Wheels and has carbon fibre roof , bonnet , boot and front and rear bumperes and is totally stripped out and roll caged...
First things first i decided to snow foam the car
then got started after a wash on the sticker edges
then got to work on both sets of wheels
and callipers which were pretty bad
wheels sprayed off and then car washed again
car then dried and taken into workshop
Lots and lots of scratching on the carbon
Products used today were fast cut plus on carbon and 80349 on paintwork as the paint on micing up between 110 and 130..
I was pleased with the roof after
and the rear boot although some scratching remained as very very deep but condition improved 500% and very nice looking giving massive depth to the weave
same with bonnet although 90% of scratches removed as not as bad
The rear contours of the panels are superb on the car and a very nice wet look after correction and cleaner fluid
John rang up to see how it was going and asked if i was working hard on the car and would we send a camera photo...The Race tech sent one saying i was taking things too seriously...lol
Now the correction was done i decided to cleaner fluid the whole car for a change as i tried it earlier on a panel and the finish was superb
Panel at a time and removed
Wax today on this colour i love z concours...

car was then left and sprayed with z8
