    ABS fault MK4 2.0 dti

    Astra MK4 2.0 dti (W reg)
On starting the car from cold the ABS light remains 'ON'. If I immediately restart the car the ABS light goes 'OUT' and remains 'OUT'. If I stop the car for longer than a few minutes the ABS light comes 'ON' again. I have checked the wheel sensors and all measure approx 1,500 ohms except for the nearside front which measures 1,000,000 ohms plus. If this sensor is disconnected the speedo does'nt work. So I can only assume its o.k
Does anyone have any other suggestions for finding the fault?

If you have checked all the fluid levels, and condition of wires to each wheel then you have done everything you can without specialist equipment to hand. You can of course trial and error but considering each wheel sensor comes complete with the wheel hub its not very practical.
Take the vehicle to a specialist who will check the waveforms coming from each sensor at varying speeds. They will also check the pump motor which also may be developing a fault.
