    Question What tool needed to remove alternator?

    Does anyone know what size tool i would need to remove the alternator from a mk4 astra?

    It looks like a female large torx tool needed, but if anyone knows the size of it, this would be helpful or anywhere i can buy one from?

    either a 15mm or 17mm spanner i think it is, thats all i used anyway. an you will need 2 of them

    your need a few more tools then that
    torx bit's to take airbox out
    15mm spanner to get the belt off

    so no torx drivers? as i was advised by an australian member that i would need a special tool to get the alternator off?

    just a good socket set will get that off the car
