Cheap inexpensive mods that wont hurt the insurance

Its as simple as this: 18 years of age, no exterior/performance mods allowed (even no alloys) with directline! definetly not goin back to them next year!

i have done the usual mods: badgless grill, debadging, de-restricted airbox/panel filter

also i have: 5 led white sidleights, silvatec indicator bulbs, clear lenses and will have sum HIDs by Trax (from group buy)

apart from the usual colour coding, as i am waiting ona new mirror for drivers side so i can colour code both! wat else can anyone recommend doing, or even, have for sale! it cant be too much thoug as jus came out of skool still lookin 4 a full time job!

heres a few pics as she stands (old-ish pics though)

    any tips welcome or photoshops!

as i want it looking as best as i can make it by trax!

Looks nice and clean. I was with direct line last year and they let me replace the alloys aslong as they were Vauxhall alloys, they let me tint the windows and that was it. I moved to morethan this year and they seem to be ok so far.

Have you thought about painting the centre console all one colour?

Have you declared the air filter mods? Technically they are performance mods, but any mods need declared, even a badgless grill...

Aside...how about a change of colour for the dash/dial lighting? £10 for the LEDs to do this, plus some patience and fiddly soldering if you do the steering wheel controls and window buttons (or not if you have manual windows).

well the directline policy applies to people under 25 and if the alloys came standard then it would be allowed!

colour coding looks like a likely choice!

yer the LED's idea is a goodun but unfortunately the words 'patience and fiddly soldering' are not in my vocabulary!

but am trying to get hold of a centre console for maybe a possible verde green respray!

This one is about adding dial rings, but it does show you how to remove the dials - then on the back there are only 3 bulbs to remove and replace with LED's. 4 if you want to do the mileage display though you need to remove the yellow filter from that if you choose a colour for the LEDs other than red/orange/yellow otherwise the mileage will look green

How about Front bonnet lifters? only 15-20 quid and looks great, no done it myself yet but plan to.

How about Alcantara gear gatiors too? Glenn Yale makes them for the mk4 i beleive.

Im the same as you tho direct line are a pain in the arse, but for the first year of driving no one could touch the price they offered.

    Good luck.
