    Experience with Lightweight Flywheels

    Hi all

I'm looking at getting a 5.3 kg flywheel installed.

I've been reading up on them and alot of people say for stop start driving(which is about 60% of the driving I do). They can be a bit clumbersome.

My car is used as a daily driver.

Also, the car needs more throttle to push it up gradients/steep hills.

Anything else that I should be aware of and does the end result justify installing one?

    Cheers

I have one and if you are fitting a new clutch then fit a fly wheel as it makes sence, I'm not sure I'd want to pay to have one fitted on it's own though!

I had mine fitted at the same time as a remap so the perfromance gains are hard to understand.
Tell me what you've done, not what you're going to!

Im in 2 minds about mine tbh - ok it seemed the sensible thing to do seeing as the engine was rebuilt and a helix organic clutch was fitted too but the idling/stalling complications can be a bit annoying....

having said that though, the flywheel has only caused 3 stalls in 3k miles

hmm thats the issue, they do tend to stall a bit

i'm thinking of leaving it really and getting an agressive map tbh.
