    Sat Nav

I'm thinking about getting a satnav unit and would like some recommendations and tips as to whats good.
Do they warn you of locations of speed cameras etc. I know F all about these gadgets so any info/advice and where to buy would be appreciated .
    Thanks.

I use a tom tom one for work, can't fault it really.
One issue is the speed camera subscribtion cost after the first year. But I'm sure you could find a torrent to download.

I currently use Garmin Mobile XT on my N95. But before that, I used a Medion one with traffic, which wasn't too bad. And before that, my Streetpilot i3 served me well

i got the alpine blackbird. excellent unit, but pricey. i got mine for way under retail.

Does speed cam warning, ETA, Distance to destination, Distance to next instruction. And give you graphs of distance, time, avg speed etc.

Navman Is great I love there maps.

    I have a Garmin 610 I think.
Its ok but I hate the software they use for updates etc etc. seems really old and rubbishand complicated.

TomTom is a saver bet and easy to update etc etc.

But personally I love Navman stuff. As there interfaces and thing are pretty good.

I think basically Garmin, TomTom, and Navman are the market leaders - anything you get by them will see you right. Don't discount the budget satnavs like the Mio C250 tho (can be had on Amazon for £80)

If you're willing to do a bit of homework (search out reviews, etc), you can get a perfectly good unit for as low as £60 from the likes of Dabs or eBuyer
