is it a problem or is it just a charactoristic of the engine??

had this problem for ages now and never been sure if its sumat to worry about or not
    engine is a z18xe

if im in a low gear 1st or 2nd mostly and i floor it the car pulls forward at a normal rate for about 1second then loses power for 1/2 a second the goes again as normal almost as if its starved of fuel for a split second

i noticed when i had problems with starting the tha the two spark plugs cam cover side where abit black and the other two are the right colour a nice grey/brown i looked at an old set of plugs and they where the same colour
coil pack was changed to cure stating problem and the new plugs have done the same

any ideas as i cant think what would cause two cylinders to run slightly rich and the other two run fine

    thannx

that was the plan this weekend and you have answered my next question lol i was gunna say are they all the same lol

they are bloody expensive looked on ebay and they are like 20+ quid each new so wont be buying them on a wim thats why i asked in you thread if you had any as you seem to have most things lol

do they have any seals or anything that i will need for refitting?

time to crack out the trusty haynes manual

The seals should be fine, they'll be crusty and white or cracked if they need replacing. Give em a rub with some vaseline.

I have some 1800 injectors of the newer XER engine (as I gave away my last z18xe set with a supercharger bundley thing) but would have to check they are the same flow rate or you'll end up harming the engine.

Only done 6000 miles though, so basically new!
