    Electronically Controlled Engine Cooling Light

    Brought a Astra Gsi Turbo Tonight and on the way home i booted it from the lights and noticed the Electronically Controlled Engine Cooling Light appeared didnt think nothing of it turned engine off then back onn ight went out then whilst out again it came on seems to be when engine is warm. Car runs fine though when light is on

    I've been having the same problem with my 2.2 Coupe mate coolant level is fine and the fan kicks in when it should it's a pain in the ar** if you find out what's causing your problem gonna post up mate? I'm gonna call the AA out when I get the time but just not had spare time yet and the car's running fine just a pain!

    It's the stupid module mate, mine comes on goes off all on it's own and everything works as it should

    well its booked in monday i no a chap that use to be manager of vauxhal so hes going to have a look for me. il post as soon as i find out juist P*ss me off that i buy a car and a warning light comes on. it obviously on for a reason

    You'll find that the module get wet and plays up i have resealed mine and it stopped. The reason it comes on is because it is crap that's why it wasn't fitted to the Mk5. I will be surprised if you don't end up buying another coolant module

    I take it you're talking about the coolant control module mate?(at the pass side at the wheel if you take the bumper off)
    Take it's easy to replace?

    Thanks Enigma do I need to take the box off if I'm right it's held on with torque bolts? Is that the module? If so I take it I just disconect the two plugs that go into it and replace it?
