    Question Cruise Control wont work

    Hi all

I took my Astra 56 plate (1.6 sxi) to a dealership yesterday for cruise control to be fitted. They fitted the stalk and clutch switch and all the wiring was in place. However, the cc would not work. They worked on the car for 4 hours but nothing. The dealership have fitted loads and are stumped. The dealership have been very helpful and treated me well and asked me to leave the car with them for a couple of days. They are offering me a courtesy car without charge. Any ideas?

    cheers

    Vinlec

I presume they have actually plugged it into Tech2 and activated it? IIRC, there are two options that need switched on in order for it to work...

And when you say it doesn't work, you have taken it over 30mph and used the brakes before trying to use CC?

    Cruise control not working

I was quoted roughly £150 fitted. The price is not gonna change given all the extra hours and the courtesy car. The clutch switch was not there and i didn't really want to do the job myself.

I had been told by another dealership that the wiring wasn't there, but they quoted me £80 for the whole job. I guess they thought that they quoted me too low. They clearly lied cos the wiring is there.

    cheers

    hi again

The dealership tell me that when they connect the car to tech , it reads that the clutch switch is active all the time. Any ideas what is wrong with the cruise control?

    cheers

That would suggest a faulty clutch switch or broken wire as it's open circuit
