Right then guys...i'll try to get straight to the point
basically every so often (happened 3 times in a month)
when coming to a stop - ie brake, clutch, neutral just as u coast for that final few yards or so the engine has stalled.... the first time i thought it was just my imagination, then the 2nd time got me thinking....it happened again on friday night and after a little research here and on google its looking like a common thing.
Ive noticed somewhere that the crank & camshaft sensors have been mentioned?
Its not the type of juddering/stalling u get with a coked up TB etc - seeing as its very erratic then Im assuming its something electrical such as a sensor.
On another note, I did the self test yesterday and got P0420 (precat o2) - no spanner lights but just randomly did it and it appeared (fault code wasnt stored a few days earlier)
Ive done a bit of research and someone mentioned their car stalls and they get this code so dont know if its maybe related or something entirely different.
I also read that this code sometimes comes up on models fitted with de-cats and sports cats. Ive got a decat precat & sports cat so this could be the reason.....could always mount the sensor a little further outwards in the boss to see if that stops the code kicking up....
In all honesty Im not bothered about the code unless it maybe is a reason why the car sometimes stalls when coming to a stop.
Can anyone shed some light on the situation?
Dont wanna lash out x amount on a new lambda when the sports cat could be the reason for a false code or even the 2nd lambda as sometimes this causes a false code.....
Would a dodgy lambda cause or could cause stalling???
Right i'll shutup now....but u get the idea hopefully!
