225 Tyres on Coupe with a 45mm drop

Currently i have a coupe with 18" signas with stretched 215 tyres on ... which are ok no rubbing etc on front or back ... how ever with the style of wheel etc with the stretched tyres makes kerbing is alot easyer ...

has anyone got 225 tyres on there coupe and if so do you have it lowerd ? do they rubs .. i seem to remmber fronts will be fine but rears could be a issue

no rush on an answer as my current tyres have plenty of tread will just be in future when i change all the tyres

    Regards

    Dave

I'd have said the opposite to that mate, rears would be ok front would rub

My fronts are a very tight fit on 215 but the rears have plenty of space and its lowered around 60mm (rear)

If I recall correctly the signas have the same offset as my irmscher sport stars (38 offset) and are 18"x8".

My car is pretty low. Must be lowered at least 45mm and I had to do quite a bit of work on the rear arches. I've had metal lip rolled back, had the bumper bracket modified with the irmscher bracket and it still rubs on big bumps or really uneven ground.

I've got falken 225x35 tyres which apparently have more rim protection than most tyres (linea_rossa's cab has 1 falken tyre due to a flat and it rubs more than the other side).

I've literally just had a new rear bumper fitted and because I dedided a while back that i'm never gonna return my car back to standard I've had the bumper bracket removed and the bumper bonded on near the arches. It shouldn't rub at all now Just haven't drove the car much since.

So there you go. Thought i'd explain what i've gone through to get the tyres to work ok If you don't want a load of work stick with the 215's. Before I had the most recent work done I was thinking about getting 215's when I replace my tyres because it makes the alloys look bigger.
