    Temp Guage

    My temp guage has decided to die on me and traveling up to USC on the weekend the car over heated, it seems to be running fine now although the temp guage still hasnt come back to life, whats the first things to check? Where is the sensor? Can any one help please?

    Sensor is in the side of the head just underneath where the coil is plugged in. Its a 19mm spanner to get it off and cost about a £6 i think from autovaux.

    Sorry to bump an old thread but i still have this problem. i changed the sensor to be sure but it doesnt seem to work. It sometimes works but rarley so im completley lost to what it can be.
    Anyone any suggestions?

    Worth a go.
    Some ECu's 'drop' certain sensors if they are faulty, not sure about VX ECu's though.
    Failing that,have you got a spare coolant control module you can swap out? Or, get it tech 2'd

    Can't edit last post.
    Or bite the bullet and get a new sensor as unless your sensor was badly corrodes or furred it, wiping it won't make any difference IMO.
