Had mine about a year now and still think its simply amazing.... mine was with the 19's which i preffered cuz of the looks but handling wise people say the 18's are better... no problems with the gearbox find it smooth but i went from a saxo vts that had done 100,000 mile so the gear box wasnt the best on that, so i think any gear box would of felt better, glad i got the vxr tho was looking at loads of cars including the focus st/rs.. but settled with the astra in arden blue.... if it was now tho i would go for the nurburg edition! love the remus exhaust
If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?

    Check the figures on paper/websites.

It's not about the car - it's the driver

The VXR will have the civic on the straights no problems then as you firmly take the lead and enter some corners the civic simply wont have enough to actually get passed you.....
but if you dont get that lead you will also struggle to get passed the tyrpe r......
    both great cars.......
but would be the VXR for me any day.....im really not fond of the newer style type r's...

i've heard nothing but great comments about the VXR. As for the wheels, i know that some people say the 19's ruin the habdling. So the 18's would be better. Just depends on whether you want style or performance really, i suppose.

I've driven a few VXRs and found the performance very good fun but I didn't feel comfortable driving it - the seats pinched my back too much and the general driving position would take some getting used to.

I drove a 55 reg. civic type R the other day and it felt fantastic comfort wise but didn't feel anywhere near as quick as the VXR.

I was quite disappointed with the type R's performance - there's no real kick until about 6000RPM and then going up to 8000RPM, which I know is because of the V-tec.

Lots of people rave about the civic (the one before the latest one) and unless there was something wrong with the one I drove, it gave me no thrills whatsoever.
