What rear lights do you have?

    Hey

I am thinking of changing the rear lights on my black, MK4 Astra G

I'm not a fan of lexus lights so I was thinking of going for the dark effect (Seeing as how my ar is black)

I like the look of these...
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ASTRA-G-SMOKED...6.c0.m14.l1318

    What do you think?
Could you possibly post your pictures of your lights? and where they were from, how much etc.
Also, what are the laws and legal requirements on the rear lights?
What can and can't be done?
    What legal and illegal?

    Thankyou guys!
Your a great help on this forum!

Those on ebay were the ones I were looking to get, unfortunately though bidding was nearing £100 which was too much.

As long as you have the reflector strip (else you'll fail your mot) you'll be fine.

ok so they can be as dark as you want?
as long as that reflective strip is visible?
and the indicator lights visible during night and day obviously??

I've got blacked our rear lights.

As long as the reflective strip is left unpainted, and all the lights show through in hte right colours then they will be fine for MOT.

Out of all the tinting sprays, the OMP one is the best as it's actually a black acrylic paint that goes see through when the lights are on.

    Here's some piccies of mine

You can spray the reflector strip but there may be limits on how much - I know Tangoid has some professionally sprayed (from eBay via Germany I think) rear lights and the whole light has been sprayed over.

even if you spray over the reflector for the mot stick some reflectors to the car for the mot and it will pass

    Cheers

They are just my standard rear lights that I've sprayed with OMP tinting spray. The OMP stuff is actually an acrylic paint that goes see through when the lights are on. I've been through 2 MOTs with them and never been pulled for them.

Think the spray was about £23 or something from Motorworld, but I did do them just over 2 years ago
