    suspension question

    ok i have an astra g 1.8 16v sxi,my suspension started sqeekin is there a way to fix this?and how can i tell if they need replacing? but im looking at lowering it so rang my local parts company n they quoted me 248quid for 4 shock absorbers and said i cudnt lowerr it standard springs is this true?also just fited 17" wheels so whats the lowest i can lower it on my old shock absorbers if they are ok?i can get coilovers of ebay for 220deliverd so what is my best option as money is an issue thanks

    looking at lowering it 60/40 or 60 all round wich do people think is better?also is this kind of drop ok on standard shocks?and willit rub with 215 45 17"tyres? thanks guys

    Could be a worn anti roll bar bush
    or a worn spring
    worn damper
    or combination of the lot!

    you shouldnt drop it by 60mm on standard dampers, the springs would never be in contact with the top and bottom of the damper cups... resulting in the worst ride, this side of a smart car!
