    Need some DIY advice

Redecorating one of the rooms in the house and its just above the stairs which means its got part of floor at a angle

What I want to know is if I can saftley remove the two right angled joints.

My plan is to put a bed up here, but its going to extend slightly over the angled bit. I don't plan on supporting the bed in any way on the angled bits of wood

Without removing the bits of wood its a bit not really possible to fit a bed in the room! Unless i put it stupidly high

My mates dad did this in his room. He Made a separete frame i think slight above that. Did have to touch it. The 1" think mdf as a top for the bed and matress on top of that. He then fashioned some cupboard doors for it and made the under bed for storage. Pretty cool!

Looking at it, it looks like someone stuck the woodwork there to support a shelf or something. Seeing as it would no longer / not currently be supporting anything, I would think you could remove it. I wouldn't put anything heavy there until you've braced it again tho. If you're gonna put a bed there, you may end up building a similar sort of thing to go in it's place, only smaller

All conjecture on my part without actually being there tho

Looks like it was only there to 'square off' that bit so yes you can remove it.
