    What LED's for the MK5?

What leds are needed to do a dash conversion in blue?
The truth is always the truth even if you haven't realised it yet...

If it's just the speedo then you need PLCC-2s, however for the rest of them then they vary...

You have two choices take it all apart and check your own car or buy the kit from www.ledconversions.co.uk which has enough in it to cover most eventualities (but then you knew that didn't you...?)

Heater unit uses a mixture of PLCC-2 and PLCC-4s Lee. Sorry didn't see this before or I'd have answered. I only spotting it as I was trawling through your posts looking for a specific one

Yeah you could be right, I remember the PLCC-4s but it's been a while since I last did one and your probably correct in saying the rest are 1206s.

Well actually... strictly speaking... they are 0805's behind the buttons, not 1206's.

But I use 1206's when I fit up people's cars as they fit the solder pads just as well and provide a better integration with the headunit and heater dial LED's (they are a bit brighter and have a wider dispersion).
