I have the Mk1 VRS, got it a couple of cars after i sold the Astra.

It's currently running 235bhp but it's at it's limit of power before you start taking bigger turbos and the like. It's had 2 owners from new and serviced every 6k, the only thing i've had go wrong so far is the oil cooler split (known problem) replaced this and has since been fine. It's also done 110k today in fact.

I have a vid of it on youtube as well from when i ran the 1/4 mile, it was full of subs in the boot so didn't get exacly the times i wanted but hey. Also it was against a Leon Cupra 225.

the octavia .. uber under rated id say tho i voted for the cupra r lol
if you can get your mits on a good one then theyre awesome!
tho i reckon theyre gonna be worth loads at low mileage in the future!
    so maybe a collectors car

the octavia would get my vote after the cupra as its just such a sleeper! plus they go for reasonable prices now the hlf leather interior looks awesome
