    Coupe Specs?

    I've been looking at 2.

    2000 & 2001 REG Cars.

Puzzling thing is that the 2000 Reg has a trip computer as appose to the 2001 not having one.

Is their a reason for this and will both has traction control?

    What engine?

Think it may have been an optional extra to have trip computer installed, turbos have it as standard.

As for traction control - what engine size?

2.2 is a much stronger engine and copes with the astra's size alot better than the 1.8. Gearbox is a longer ratio too so much nicer at motorway speeds.

Although if you can afford it the turbo is the one to get, the mpg is fairly similar. But you have some overtaking power to play with.

IIRC only the turbos should come with a trip computer.

no its not, its still made from the same stuff the 1.8 is, just the 2.2 has even more aluminium, the 1.8 has a steel head where as the 2.2 is alloy. The 1.8 has NO issues with the coupes size either and copes fine, (trust me)

I agree the 1.8 is a fine engine as i used to have one! Cheaper on insurance and tax too. It depends on what you are after from the car IMO.

All are cracking cars, the 1.6 maybe a little underpowered but still fine for driving from A to B.

Best thing to do is to test drive all the models you are considering and make your own choices.

Opinions are down to the individual.

very true, i'd say the 1.6 is slightly underpowered in the convertible, but otherwise alright, the turbo is defo the best bet if you can afford it, as said, test drive and see what works for you!
