    Question de-restricted airbox

    ok ive just done the job and my car did idel around 700 but now it idles around the 900 mark is this right?

    Hmm, I doubt that's right, but mine is a 1.6 16v...any chance you knocked any sensors off when you did the work?

    make sure u havent disloged the air intake temperature sensor mounted in the pipe at the front of the engine leading from the airbox to the throttle body.

    the vectra pipe itself is just a pipe as u know so it must have been something youve knocked whilst fitting it.

    Maybe try disconnecting the battery for half hour if u think the resetting of the ECU will help - just make sure u have the key code at hand for the stereo and u know the correct procedure for removing the battery re: the powersounder

    Best thing therefore, just make sure the little temp sensor mentioned above is firmly connected etc


    EDIT: just realised u aint mentioned the Veccy C pipe - but just the airbox - still check the temp sensor
