Sony CDXGT300S into my MK4 Astra

Any idea on what converter i will need? Also the car has steering wheel controls. Will that need another wire of some form? Also best ideas of cheapest places to shop?

    The Head Unit.

    The Standard Wiring.

Also will i need to get some kind of aerial extension piece as the aerial lead in above picture was like a cap on a metal section in the head unit. In my new head unit there is just a hole for the aerial so i guess i need some kind of metal jack type thing to go between the two.

Cheers in advance for any clues!

    Ooo a fellow Shropshire person

You can get the stalk lead adapters and a stalk patch lead

PC99 X06 and PC99 SON is generally what's needed for sony headunits, you need to check whether your CD player is compatible with Stalk adapters and it will say in the instruction booklet mate.

You can get Male Ariel adapters from halfords for £4 or cheaper off ebay

    Hope this helps

That headunit should have a lead that comes with it that plugs into the headunit and then will plug into the car's ISO connector. Without that it won't work. This lead will have to come from sony.

Once you have that lead you can get a steering wheel control adaptor, there's a list of them in a sticky at the top of this forum.

Finally you need a ISO to DIN aerial adaptor that can be picked up pretty much anywhere that sells car stereo's, even halfords
