    how low with coilovers

    how low can i go with coilovers on the mk4 hatch. i'm worryed about the screw that holds the back bumper on rubbing on the tire is ther any way of modding this. i know the front can only go as low as the tire so i can still turn the wheel

    ay help would be great regards chris

    The plastic bit holding the bumper does not cause a problem even when its spanked right down.. This is assuming its the same as the plastic bit on the coupe bumper..

    Just keep winding them down till it scraps, if your not worried about handling.
    My old mk4 sxi had less than 5mm between the tyre and arch on full lock.

    i also have 18" wheels with 215/35/18 tyres. i dont know if they are the same as the coupe

    I have same size tyres on my coupe with the coilovers wound down as far as they go (75mm according to FK - not sure if it is that much) on the rear, never scraped once. I know the coupe has slightly more room than the hatch but can't see it being that different.

    Offset and wheel width is also important though.

    how hard is the ride now mate. back in the day i had a nova gte on coilovers if i went in a pot hole it felt like i'd never get out of it again

    The back can be quite bouncy on rough roads,and if you hit a pot hole you will know about it

    TBH I love the ride it gives, just need to take it easy down back roads lol.

    Fk say 75 due to legal reasons...they actually go ALOT lower. Ive got 19's on and Fk's. The only thing that catches are the outer arches...they just need rolling
