    Cleaning ma soft top

now then guys, i got me an astra coupe cab, in black with black canvass roof.
on problem is is that the roof aint black no more!!!!
seems to be going green (not good). i got myself some Turtle wax soft top cleaner/conditioner but this isnt seeming to bring it back to black, i apply as per the instructiions and when i rinse it you can see the dirt in the water but once the roof is dry, its still bloody green!
    any help guys

Aint seen turtle wax stuff but try hoovering it when dry to get rid of the loose stuff and dust then get some autoglym fabric roof cleaner and scrub away at it then rinse. Thats what I use and have no problems with mine and mine gets covered in all sorts of s*** from my works.

What colour is your cab. It could be possile that you have a green roof on it as the dark green ones came with a sort of brit racing green roof.

If not, hoover it, then use either AG's roof cleaning kit, or Raggtop roof cleaner.

I used the Autoglym fabric soft top cleaner on my blue roof, comes with a rough foam sponge which helps get the dirt out. I thought it worked really well.

I have come across this more often on damp mouldy interiors than exteriors tbh but on this car:

there were a few green marks which showed up on the light grey roof, in both instances I used diluted bathroom mould/mildew remover on a sponge, agitated it then rinsed off immediately.

BUT I have not tried this on a black roof before, so test for bleaching effect on an inconspicuous test patch first before attacking the rest of the vehicle!!!!

Just because it didn't bleach a black astra interior and seatbelts does not mean it won't affect your roof.

Basically for the soft tops I hoover them first and brush with a stiff brush to raise dust, wash with car shampoo along with the rest of the car, use mould/mildew remover on a sponge to treat any green stains, rinse, then use the autoglym soft top cleaning kit (the 2 in one, cleaner and reproofer) as directed.

I wouldn't use normal car shampoo on a roof as it'll take a hell of a lot of water to rinse the sids out as the soap will soak into the fabric.
