    porsche fun today! :D

John C off detailing world popped over today to say hi and to cheer me up a bit by taking me for a spin in the porsche (P reg, the last of the air cooled ones, but not a turbo, just a turbo replica). I didn't expect him to pull over and tell me I could have a go too Had a good blast along the A68 and around town, I expected it to be a lot twitchier than it was but it was actually quite pleasant to drive, very harsh clutch of course but no worse than my old land rover He seemed surprised and after a short while complimented the smoothness of my gear changes saying I was driving it better than he did when he first got it, and that he stalled it repeatedly at first . Anyway piccies:

It certainly brightened up my day anyway, I've been pretty low since the weekend but I finally broke a smile anyway.

Oh dear...a Turbo badge on a non turbo'd Porsche. Criminal.

Bet that heavy clutch did wonders for your injury.

Thought you couldn't drive due to torn ligaments in your ankle? Must be healing quickly to be able to use a heavy cluth!

well I haven't got much else to do at the moment. My back is ok for driving (so long as it's not for hours on end without a break) and tbh I have monster thigh muscles and am used to heavy clutches anyway (tbh my antiquated van is more difficult to drive, AND the van has no power steering lol) so no it didn't hurt as it didn't involve bending and contorting or lifting.

Its a friend of mine who lives locally who knew I was feeling a bit down so said he'd come and cheer me up with a drive out, as I said I didnt expect him to offer me a drive too but it was very nice of him.

yes, turns out the nurse in A&E was wrong (I thought she was as although it was swollen and very painful, it wasnt as swollen as the previous occasions when I'd torn ankle ligaments, this was only one side.) After 48 hours the pain subsided and it seems ok, I'm guessing it must have just strained/overstretched it and after rest is ok very pecuilar. I'm fine to walk/drive now it only hurt the other night when I sat cross legged for a while and when I went to get up it was very painful but other than that its ok. Trust me if it wasn't I wouldn't have driven at all!
