Yet another which adapter thread :(

Sorry, but this seems extremely confusing to me

So, I am after getting one of these Pioneer Double Din Jobbies for my MK5 to replace the CD30.

I would like all steering controls and the date/time changing ability to remain, so am I right in thinking I need one of these for the steering controls and one of these for the antenna? Will I need one of these as well?

I guess that I'll need a facia adapter otherwise there will be gaps around the unit?

Thanks in advance and sorry for asking the same question that gazillions of other people have asked too I just want to be sure that I am ordering the right stuff.

    hi all,

hope its okay that i post directly in this thread rather than create my own!

    i've got a mk5 astra...
i bought this Sony MEX-BT3600U CD Player from halfords

i've bought the grey fascia i need to take out the standard cd player that came with the car.
now would you mind helping me figure out what wires i need to set it all up...

from reading the sticky thread, i figured out i'll need a sony adaptor patch lead: this
do i still need an ISO adaptor?? this

    what else do i need?

i'll also be running a kicker solo baric sub and two extra 6x9s in the boot... if that makes any difference. i wont be doing any of the wiring myself but i get it all, for my mate to do for me..

    thanks in advance

Skip both those leads you have listed from ebay. The first is needed if your using the autoleads steering wheel control adaptor but this isn't really recomended. The second lead is a ISO adaptor that also won't be needed as when you get the correct steering wheel control adaptor this will be built into it.

The recomended choice of adaptor is the connects2 version plus the patch lead for your sony headunit. Only other part you will need is a aerial adaptor

A quick look at the sticky at the top of this form (I notice there is no patch lead) gives me a part number which in a google seach shows this company

No I mean I notice no patch lead is needed as that connects2 adaptor is only for the sony headunit so forget about that PC99-SONY
