Do you know what the light is on for? Usually fixing the problem with turn it out but you will need to find the problem first, what year is your car?

I dont think it will be from the other car if its the spanner light, this information is stored in the ECU and wont transfer between cars, the only information stored in the clocks is the mileage. Also the service indicator will come up with INSP on the screen if it needs services. Are you sure the clocks are connectred correctly? If so i would get the car hooked up to a code reader to read the codes, also depending on the year of the car you may be able to read them yourself.

Early models (upto 2000) - use the good old paperclip method: http://www.astraownersclub.com/vb/sh...69&postcount=4
(ignore the other references in this post as its lifted directly from another thread)

later models (2000 onwards) - use the both pedal method: http://www.astraownersclub.com/vb/sh...78&postcount=2

    fault light

the original clocks wernt showing the light and when i put the new ones in it lit up straight away, they are all working fine i have done 100 miles today and they are great apart from the light, they must be connected properly as there is only one way to install them, the van is a 2003 but i dont know the gsi year the clocks came out of,
