Run the tank right down, I mean light flashing on the dash before you take it in. I did and the tank still had loads in and was ferking heavy!!! Don't try and do this on your drive it'll be next to impossible. I did it in a full on garage using a gear box support to drop the tank and this was still a pain in the ass operation even with 2 people working on it.

Check the hoses to make sure there not the fandangled ones from Vauxhall that requires a special tool. If they are then buy the special tool no amount of fabrication will get the tool for the job (as I've found out to my cost).

Whilst your there check the state of the hoses and connections and replace if necessary. Whilst your there then replace the fuel filter too.

    Good luck.

simple enough to do as long as the exhaust will come out of the way. If doing it on the floor make sure you have some really big axle stands as you need to get the car quite high to do this

if it's a mk3 which i assume it is, replace it with a plastic tank off a Saab rather a metal one, no danger of it rusting then and it will be lighter
Coupe now being broken for parts
