    "CDC Safe"!!! Neeed the Code!

    Hello fellow members,

Just brought a Mk4 Astra Coupe Bertone, and am loving it.
However one thing I ain't lovin' is the fact the in glovebox cd multichanger requires a security code.

Spoke to the seller, who gave me the head unit code, but says he never used the multichanger (had his own head unit) so didn't know the code for that...bummer...

Looked though all the manuals and can't find any card, or written paper with it on...

Phoned my lovely Vauxhaul dealer, who says they will need the serial number, then they can send it off to some magical fairy who will in turn give me the code! Yes!....errr but you have to pay £20.00....

Looking through the forums it appears as though some of you fine upstanding people have the gift of working out this code?

Will post the serial on here later today...

    Welcome mate

You can try the serial number approach making sure you give the make and model of the headunit but I would recomend getting it from vauxhall. The key code card has all the immobiliser codes too so if you even need a key programmed in you would need it

Thanks for the quick response Autosparks....

Think I will hold out for someone to supply the code via serial on here, mainly because I am a tight arse.
Looking for a tool to remove it now, think it is held in by 4 small Allan key points.

    Hello Rigsby29,

Thanks buddy, I will have a look once I have finally taken out the unit. Took the 4 allen and the face plate popped off.
But thanks again to Sparks, I will grab some forks to pull the mother out...

    Good news guys!

After hacking and smashing for 10 minutes to get it out, there was indeed a label attached on the top with the code. Pumped it in, and lo there was CD sound!

Thanks guys this is brilliant! Save me forking out for either a new head unit or the code from Vauxhall.

    Cheers..
