Is this a normal 50mm drop?

    Hi all,

About two weeks ago I lowered my car with a 50/30mm Sportline (Eibach) kit, and now it still looks far too high, and after comparing with a standard SXi, the bumpers are the same height!

These are photo's taken from today:

The back seems to sit just right, but the front end is higher then the rear

Any suggestions as to what I can do, or to what I should do?

    Thanks for any help!

50mm on the front should be a lot lower than that, there shouldn't be much of a gap between tyre and arch.

Did you lower the rear and forget about the front
Not much you can do about it though, apart from try some different springs?

Hi hun, looks like you may have been sent the wrong ones looks more like the 30/30 Do you still have the box? Springs are really difficult to measure accurately so the only way you would really know would be to remove them and check out the numbers that are stamped on them, they all have individual code numbers so you can call Eibech or LMF or whoever your supplier was? Hope this helps. Jx

The 50 will be on the back i assume, which is alright, but when you say ur mates standard sxi was same height, did the other sxi have standard wheels on, and your wheels will be bigger, which makes the car higher off the ground.

Cheers, my father had to order them as I don't have any credit/debit cards, and he ordered the 50/30mm kit!

It does state it on the side of the box that it should be a 50mm drop! I got them from LMF, so should I call them and ask for a new set to be sent out?

I definatly asked him to mention it was for a X16SZR, and the guy at LMF said there were different springs for the different weight engines!

Don't forget that ALL suspension drops relate to bog standard suspension, ie Envoy, LS, Club, CD and CDX etc - the SXi and SRi are already -20mm when they come out of the Opel/Vauxhall factory.

Most spring manufacturers quote 4 different front axle weights because the variations in different models is quite marked.

Check the VIN plate (Drivers side door shut) and then check the weights on the box are the same.

If not, a polite call to LMF and they'll sort it for you.

IIRC Dave Dempsey had the same problem with his GSi.
