MK4 front doors - MDF speaker mount sizes?

Anyone know the outside diameter of speaker mounts on a MK4 3dr? I know the speakers are 6.5" but I am hoping to get some MDF mounts made up without having to take my doors apart to get the door measurements...not so much lazy as aware my wife won't appreciate the additional time I have to spend on the car, think she's jealous enough anyhow!

can you take the small panel off that covers the speakers and measure behind it
What is cross posting? Is it when you get angry and post it on a forum?

Theyre a weird shape. A circle with 3 lugs on it. when i made mine i just about copied the standard speaker baffle. I made mine out of, if i remember rightly, 18mm and 12mm mdf glued together, but needed to do lots of trimming of the baffle in places to refit the door card.
If i can find some pics of mine ill post them up for ya.

you wont get a good strong baffle without removing the doorcard as its a manky shape plus if you do it with flat MDF the speakers will face the floor idealy they need angeling up as far as posible

Starting to sound more complicated than I thought then! I'm sure (but need to check) that I didn't use any adapters when fitting my current Kenwood components....

Methinks I'll have to just have a look at the doors then...soo long since I put the Kenwoods in!
