*****BILLING-Reported Water Contamination in Northampton ***

Copy of Email received from Ian Coomer, Chairman VBOA

    Dear All

You may have read in the press that some areas of Northampton are receiving tap water which is contaminated with a virus. We have contacted Billing Aquadrome management who are recommending that the piped water on the site is NOT used for drinking until health checks have been carried out by the water company. Piped water on the site is perfectly safe for showers etc and there is no threat from the lakes or river water in the area.

Billing is laying on extra stocks of bottled water for sale and visitors are being advised to bring extra supplies should the problem continue.

There is no question of our event being cancelled and hopefully normal supplies of safe drinking water to Northampton and the Billing site will be resumed well before our visit.

    Kind regards

    Ian Coomber

As long as you boil the water, you are fine

We have been doing that since this started, and we have been told that 1/2 of the peeps affected with get normal water back by the end of next week, with the rest a few weeks later. Will know more by Friday whether Northampton is still under "boiling restrictions"

Thanks Sami, can you keep us updated.

Also, do your wonderful council plan on shutting any roads for this show too?

To date, the roads seem ok. But I'll give you all a heads up again if they decide to be stupid again

Well, there is that I guess

Been trying to figure out a way of keeping beer / cider cold while we're there as it goes. Cooler box will only do it for so long... mind you, I only live 10 mins away. Fridge runs anyone??
