    Mk4 Fuel Tank

Stated as 52 litres, does this take into account the filler pipe volume? Only reason I ask is that Ive just done 440 miles and been left with 21.5litres (according to my OBD reader).

    This would equate to
    (52-21.5) *0.22 = 6.71 gallons
440/6.71 = 65MPG Which cant be right, as I was hardly driving like a saint.

Plus I went to fill it right the way back up as well clicked off at 35 litres = 56 or more litres in the 'tank' as it is.........

Edit - even if i use the value of 35 litres for MPG

    35*0.22 = 7.7gallons
    440/7.7 = 57MPG
Which surely isnt possible, even on Y20DTH?

Its the Y20DTH (afaik lol I cant figure out the engine code accurately)- it was a 40 mile trip each way to work and back for the last 5 days

Several instances of caining it overtaking stupid lorries on the A15, sitting at 3000RPM doing 90mph on the M180 etc etc

edit - pics of your 580BHP TDI?!?!?!?

You will have to excuse dannyspam as he doesn't read threads properally

I know they say the tanks 52 litres but even when my trip computer says I only have 20 miles left (it runs out of fuel at 10 miles) I can't even get 50 litres in it

With your car being a diesel i'm sure it could do that sort of MPG

As for Danny's 580BHP TDI this is it

@ Autosparks (what sort of power do busses have )

If I was going to work again next week I wouldnt have filled it back up, i would have seen how far I could get before the light came on (not supposed to use the shit bits in the bottom of diesel IIRC?) Im thinking if I had slowed down a bit I might have seen 600 miles or more to the tank, which I guess aint too bad, especially the way I was driving.

As it is, as Tesco have paid for all my fuel this week I decided to fill the 35 litres of the tank with the BP Ultimate stuff, see if it made any difference whatsoever (would hope for something at 141.9ppl )
